Part of the 54th (East Anglian) Division arrived at Suvla Bay which was an amphibious landing of Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey as part of the August Offensive, the final British attempt to break the deadlock of the Battle of Gallipoli. The landing, which commenced on the night of 6 August 1915, was intended to support a breakout from the Anzac sector, five miles (8 km) to the south. The 54th arrived on the 10th August and proceeded to Anzac in early September.

Landed at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli on 9 August 1915.

Died Sunday 19th September 1915 aged 25.
