Edgar Langridge

1956

Death of Mr. Edgar Langridge on Monday, at his home Glencoe, Red Road. He had been ill for about two years. A native of Wootton was a builder by trade. Served in Royal Hampshire and Wiltshire Regiments during World War 1 and was a prisoner of war for two years in Germany. In the last war he was in the village Home Guard. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. The funeral took place at Parish Church. Rector. Rev. Genower conducted the service.

Mourners – Mrs. E. Langridge (widow); Mr. D. Langridge (son); Mr. J. Langridge (brother); Mr & Mrs T. Langridge (brother & sister-in-law); Mr & Mrs Harris (sister and brother-in-law); Mr R. Johnson (brother-in-law); Mrs. A. Langridge (sister-in-law). The Rechabities were represented at the funeral and sent a wreath.
